Tessa W. Damm, MD

Dr. Tessa Damm is a physician with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and four board certifications, including expertise in caring for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). While she has witnessed the remarkable capabilities of modern medicine, Dr. Damm is equally as passionate about flipping the script in healthcare by empowering individuals to take control of their health. Through her innovative healthspan programs, she helps people optimize their metabolism, build lifelong vitality, and create a future free from the burden of preventable illness. Her mission is to guide others toward avoiding the chronic diseases and hospitalizations she has spent her career treating.


Rania L. Dempsey, MD, MS, DipABLM

Founder and Physician, Empowering Lifestyle Health

Dr. Rania Dempsey is a triple board-certified physician with 30 years of experience in internal medicine, sports medicine, and lifestyle medicine. A passionate believer that fostering physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing is the key to health, Dr Dempsey prescribes research-backed lifestyle strategies including physical activity, healthy eating, mindfulness, connection, and stress management to prevent, treat and reverse disease. Dr. Dempsey received a BA in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude) from Kalamazoo College and an MD from the University of Chicago. She completed Residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University, and Fellowships in Sports Medicine and Clinical Research at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Additionally, she earned an MS in Epidemiology from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1999 and received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine in 2001. In 2017 she was among the approximately 250 physicians worldwide to earn board certification in the inaugural class of diplomates to the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.


Karin Madsen Drescher MD, dipACLM

Associate professor Anesthesiology

Dr. Karin Madsen Drescher is a board-certified anesthesiologist and Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Orthopedics at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). She attended medical school at UW Madison and completed residency training in anesthesiology at MCW in 1987, where she has been a highly respectedmember of the teaching faculty for medical students, residents, and fellows for over 35 years.  She is a founding member and longstanding former director of the Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Service at Froedtert Hospital. Her team treats acute pain needs in surgical patients and trauma victims using innovative nerve blocks and medications. As a life-long learner and educator, Karin enjoys sharing her insights with others. This includes helping her family, friends, and patients (many of whom have underlying chronic disease) develop simple and manageable goals to enhance their quality of life.  Certified in Lifestyle Medicine since 2023, she is a regular contributor to a newsletter on healthy habits at MCW. And as a woman in her 60's facing changes in her own health, she is focusing on balance and self-care to age gracefully.
